Jane McKinney
Jane McKinney received her Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance and her Bachelor of Music in Music Education [K-12] from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She has been teaching music for 30+ years in christian, private, and public schools. Her last teaching position was in Houston ISD at Marshall Academy of Fine Arts Middle School. There she taught choir and piano for fourteen years. While at Marshall the choirs were invited to sing with several Houston Grand Opera education productions, made films and recordings with American Festival of the Arts, sang on the Wortham Stage as ambassadors of the organization "Children at Risk", made several appearances for the Mayor and City Council of Houston, and represented the school at the State Capital. Her passion is to share the beauty, creativity and power of music with students, which will lead them to understand and embrace the beauty, creativity and power of our God.
Jane is married to Joe McKinney-Pastor of Congregational Care at Stonebridge Church. They have been married for a Very Long Time and have three grown and married children with ten grandchildren. She and Joe are brushing up on their German as they are planning to return for a visit to Austria where they worked for a year singing opera at the Salzburg Opera Theater in the mid 80's.
